It's just a delay

Still disturbed about everything :(, a lifting of about 20kg every morning makes me happy and have hope of a better tomorrow. I'm mentally weak x_x, distortion of many. Getting weaker everyday, most times I'm bitter and I cry inside. Sometimes, I laugh out so loud without been amused but via thought of past silly events :D.

I am a conceited person but not to the extreme; One has to heat the iron in fire first before moulding it into something useful. sometimes, fibbing is allowed but it is not allowed, lol. I am not happy about all now, but I'll be.

Elijah said "I have had enough, LORD," he said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors. 

In the book of Kings, one of chapter 19; it was made known that the Angel of Lord touched Him to 'get up and eat' twice because the journey will be too much.

There will sometimes be a delay of accelerated progress but not a denial. A particular situation will produce a particular actions and behaviours that are not acceptable as a Christian. I have regrets and I regret them. Every phase of life is a bend along the way,
which will reduce the speed of getting to the journey asap. Eat the word, so as to get strength and manoeuvre quickly. 

I'm guilty of the way I live my life now. I'll never paint someone as a dirty or filthy sinner. I am not God to judge a soul but I know that there are several polluted Christians out there which can pollute anyone even Me. Read 1 Cor 10:12 :)

Don't get polluted. Watch and Pray!!!

I woke up as usual without checking my phone for messages but to start my chores. Then I got a message from my friend saying 'Do u know Myles Munroe is dead?', checking up on my updates and to my surprise I'm seeing tributes of this great man.

Waking up to this saddening news of Dr Myles Munroe and His wife Ruth, that they have just passed away in a plane crash in Freeport Bahamas. I felt a big lump in my heart upon receiving this news, as I write this right now, I'm shattered by it.

Apostle Paul, in His words to the Thessalonians in 4:14 said "for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him".

Eventually my friend said 'He is with Jesus'. Then a song was born in my mind instantly by Nathaniel Bassey - book of life

Fighting Temptation III

On my bed after playing some street football with my ankle hurting. I got back to Lagos last week saturday, of which I should have narrated my journey. Well, let me just say I drove an Opel car and I was oppressed by those latest cars. x_x.

I left Ibadan; the city, I will never forget because I met some great men and women. People of great minds with a very large vision. I love that city and I will some day go back there.

I have a great testimony, let me thank you all for those prayers during my professional exams; which I passed :) I am so grateful. I called my uncle and told Him about my result and He said "Wale, you were destine to pass." I tried to figure why? and I got this passage "Deut 28:13 - and the Lord shall make thee the head,..."

We've been on #FightingTemptation, this will be the third series of fighting temptation. I will implore you guys to check my previous posts to understand what we are talking about. Temptation is everywhere, (I am guilty) even our Lord Jesus was tempted while in the desert and He fought Satan's temptations with scripture (Matthew 4), they are various scriptures about temptation which we can memorise to protect us against falling in our walk. Paul said “...Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God” Ephesians 6:17.

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.

On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation."

Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (I am guilty) x_x.

2 Peter 2:9
if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.

Well, I used NIV (New International Version) in order for us to get better understanding of the scriptures. There are more of them in the bible.

Fighting Temptation - God Permits it

As I write this from my bed after two weeks of absent you may think I have lost interest on this blog, NO! :p. Well, let me say I have been lazy - guilty as charged your honour - Have been edgy for awhile now, I don't know the reason why? So bad of me.

I'm through with my service year, now - I look up to God to perfectly direct my steps. My fellowship leader told me that 'failure is like a puzzle to make a success.' :) That quote really soothe me cause have been worried.

Peter said 'Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.' I told my mentor I was going back to Lagos and He asked 'Wale, what do you want to do for Jesus' - mehn, have been pondering on this!!!

LOVE!!! - I'm devastated with how my life is going now, I feel betrayed. (No discussion).

Fighting Temptation is the rave of this blog, I'll suggest you read the previous post. Fighting temptation is won or lost not by self-will, but at the spiritual level. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, Paul said "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." God allows temptation because He wants that we endure it and vows that a way out is sure.

Peter said "be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." Satan wants us to fall into temptation because His goal in our lives are:

1. To go to hell with Him

2. To make us ineffective for God

He uses temptation to accomplish his purposes. The very essence and meaning of sin is to miss the mark, and this is accomplished through giving in to temptation.

Fighting Temptation - Introduction

Wow! It's been God all these while. I had so many revelations; (It's just two x_x) I thank God for His grace over me and YOU. Remember that God loves.

My first revelation was about if there was life after death; today in church - a verse was reviewed to me. Job 14:14

"If a human being dies, will he live again?"

Basically, Job was asking God questions about all His ordeal. This particular phrase will be best understood if read from chapter 13-14 of Job.

My second revelation, this was frightful; it's a case of arrest. Let me stop here and talk to my Maker more about it. :)

I got to church early as usual, working to make sure the house of my Maker is lovely, because I'm a back-door worker x_x (let's not talk about this, I've my reason). Suddenly a song came up through the sound engineer, am a first timer to that song; it's titled 'My Praise by Cobhams Asuquo, Gabriel and Joel Benson (it can be downloaded here) I love this song - every praise is to my God.

Fighting temptation, this is my 7-series have been talking about and it's been introduced now :D. We have so many challenges in living holy because we live in an unholy world. There are so many things that wants to stop your walk with God, most especially those things that you use to do before you gave your life to Christ.

Fighting temptation shows a battle that is as much spiritual as it is emotional or physical. Jesus was tempted! So don't be an exception of temptation. It happens when there is an opportunity to do wrong, whether negating God's wish, ours, or others. Everyone is tempted and at different levels.

Most people confuse temptation with God's testing of our hearts, but they are very different. Most times, it can be both! God's testing is the opportunity to do what please Him. Proverbs 17:3 (NLT) says, "fire test the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart". When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, Abraham was being tested - both his heart to obey God and his ability to trust Him (Genesis 22).

In Matthew 26:41 (NLT), Jesus said "keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Hear what Paul was saying to the Corinth in 1 Cor 10:13 (NIV), "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

My God is a faithful one, He will never put you there and leave you to suffer.

Be like a dove...

What a week it had been, I had a great examination. It was GREAT! I'm still on the praying mood for the 7-series post coming up.

Let me start with a joke; x_x

"Every ten years, the monks in the monastery are allowed to break their vow of silence to speak two words. Ten years go by and it’s one monk’s first chance. He thinks for a second before saying, “Food bad.” Ten years later, he says, “Bed hard.” It’s the big day, a decade later. He gives the head monk a long stare and says, “I quit.” “I’m not surprised,” the head monk says. “You’ve been complaining ever since you got here.”

Don't mind me, I just had to copy Joel Osteen, He likes to start most of His preaching with a joke. Probably that's why I had to try this out. x_x Hope it was funny. :)

Of recent, my bible reading has been from the Contemporary English Version and it's good trying it out. Have been a fan of King James Version, Amplified Bible Version, New Living Translation and Eugene Peterson (The Message). Reading the Word from different version gives a better meaning of the Word. You can try it!

"Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God." Romans 12:1 CEV

You can be poor and still go to hell, you can be rich and still go to hell. Same way you can be rich and make it to heaven or poor and make it to heaven. The condition of making heaven is if you are truly Holy. - Pastor E A Adeboye

There are rewards for living an Holy life, I know living an holy life in this an unholy life can be so difficult but with the help of the HolySpirit, it will be 'so very' easy. Jesus said we have to be perfect like our father in Heaven is perfect. Being perfect is like having all A's in an examination, where your report card has no red mark in it. That's my little understanding of it.

In 1 Peter 1:13-16, Peter writes to believers, "Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy.'" Peter is quoting from Leviticus 11:44 and Leviticus 19:2.

The greatest reward for living an holy life is that You'll see God. (Matthew 5:8)

My God and I...

Hello people, like I have readers. :) This past week has been really tough. My exams starts tomorrow, I'm not scared because I have Christ in me.

I'll be having a 7-series post very soon but I don't know when; I'm still praying to get direction on what I showed write about.

I want to share a testimony basically it's my walk with God. It starts like this; have been a church goer - a chorister, a brigade boy, a sunday school attendee etc. I remember I have always gone to church along with my granddad and later with my grandma. It was more like a routine for me, that every sunday I must go to church and that's all. (That's the only day I carry my bible, of which I'll have to find it on sunday morning).

I had a lot of difficulties in doing somethings back then which I still find difficult but the HolySpirit helps me now, like; reading the bible (boring), prayer time (yawning or I sleep off), fasting (eat very well).

Now, I sit and think of the terrible things have done like go to a pub before or after a church service to take a booze, those times I thought I was having fun. I remember we do quote a scripture to back it up (I wish I could remember the passage but NO!)

I love this phrase 'what if', what if I wasn't admitted to Crawford to have my undergraduate degree, where would I have ended up.

2011; Somethings just happen and you don't have explanation for them. Like the word said in Galatians 1:15 - called me by his grace. That was the time I had to surrender all to Him, commit my life to Him fully. That was it, I had conscience immediately but I was still living a life of moral basically it was an attrition initially.

The Lord help me. He saved me from the pit of hell and gave me life. The HolySpirit is my guide, now, I don't do anything without the approval of God, now, I pray...now, I read my bible...now, I know God. I've different kinds of messages from 1976-till date. Who says walking with the Lord is easy? But it is worth it. Now, I'm in love with Jesus because He has been in love with me before I knew Him (He loves YOU too).

¨Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me¨ John 15:5

I'm still growing in faith. I have to be like Jesus (Matthew 5:48). I'm like a baby, a baby doesn't just start to walk, it starts to crawl after which it attempts to walk; everytime the baby falls, the mother helps the baby up again. Now, I've an helper (HolySpirit), my friend; each time I fall short (often but not again :d) He is there to help me up.

Do I still find the Bible boring while reading? Sometimes
Do I still eat during a fast? No
Do I still yawn while praying? Yes
Do I get shy when I want to share my faith with someone?  YES (a big yes)

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" James 4:8

"If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

Walk with God is not easy but it's worth it. If we draw nigh to Him, He'll not cast you off but give you a warm embrace. If God is on your side, and you are on His side, there is nothing nobody can do.

Know that you can't serve God and not make a mark in life, I'm a testimony. I hope my walk with God will inspire you.

Reverence God Totally

So many to write about but I don't know how to put all my thoughts down. I actually started penning this immediately church service ended, simply because I don't want to forget any action; to also pen it down without diluting it. ;)

It's been a really busy week for me, with so much to read, so much to cover up before the commencement of my examination. :)

Down to work, initially while penning this message; I initially wanted to make it a passive message but it later became a necessity.

The Psalmist said 'My Heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed' (Psalm 57:7). During the homily, there was a Lady, who sat beside me; I got distracted by what she did but it was a lesson though. x_x

She suddenly started searching her bag, I initially thought she was about to bring out a biro/jotter but to my surprise, it was a biscuit and straight to her mouth. :D Immediately, I remembered the above scripture.

It's very difficult to do two things at the same time, the bible says it's either you're serving God or Mammon (Matthew 6:24). Out mind gets distracted when it's wandering, such a mind wasn't at the message been passed but at the biscuit. Nehemiah said 'God is slow to anger' (Nehemiah 9:17) but we take that for granted.

Nugget: sometimes the little thing we count has irrelevant are the little foxes been talked about in Songs of Solomon (2:15). Simply because God is full of compassion doesn't mean we should take that for granted.

Je ne suis pas parfait (I am not perfect), we are admonishing each other. (Romans 15:14)

Can You Wait?

Still awake at 2:14am, thinking of what to post because I just have to publish before I sleep, after an hectic day of reading (preparing for an exam). I apologise for my inactive on the blog. I seldom publish a post without writing it down, imagine! I was writing on a different topic before my phone went off. :)

Now to business, Eccl 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (I don't have a topic yet)

A man can no more reverse the times and order of "planting," and of "digging up," and transplanting, than he can alter the times fixed for his "birth" and "death." To try to "plant" out of season is vanity, however good in season; so to make earthly things the chief end is vanity, however good they are in order and season. There is a reason for everything under the sky and there are seasons for every change in a situation. Just like there is a season to sow, there also is a season to reap.

When we think we are unwanted babies, we should always remember that for every ejaculation; there is a release of up to 500 million semen and just one fights to get to the ovary; which is YOU. The bible says ‘before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.'

‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.’ expected end—literally, "end and expectation," that is, a goal or result that one seeks to achieve. JUST BE EXPECTANT. 

There is a big plan already been planned out for you, there is a blueprint of your life which we must follow to achieve that expected end; ‘THE WORD OF GOD.'

Remember ‘God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?’ (Numbers 23:19) – if He says He will give you an expected end that you wish for, He will give it to you just if you fulfil His laws.

WE WILL WAIT ON YOU LORD!

Will Everyone accept Jesus?

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Matthew 7:13-14

Some Will Be SavedWhen we think about praying for, and sharing with, friends and family members who reject Jesus, we love passages like 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is . . . patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” But this doesn’t mean that everyone will eventually repent and accept Jesus Christ. Jesus plainly said in Matthew 7 that most people don’t find the way to eternal life.

Is God contradicting Himself? Not at all. In 2 Peter 3:9, we learn that God wishes, or desires, that everyone would accept Christ. It doesn’t mean that it will happen. Sometimes God desires things and other times He decides they will happen no matter what. God decided that Jesus would die on the cross so we’d have an opportunity to accept Jesus and live in Heaven. Now, God is being patient with us because he hopes, desires and wishes that we all accept the free gift He gave us. But some may refuse the gift.

God Is the One Who Chooses
In Romans, Paul makes a bold statement about God’s sovereignty: “What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means! For he says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion’” (Romans 9:14-15). Paul goes on quoting God, a few verses later: “But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, ‘Why have you made me like this?’ Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?” (Romans 9:20-21).

God’s ways are far higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9), and in the end, we have to simply acknowledge that He is in charge, and believe that everything that happens is part of His great plan.

Don’t Stop PrayingYou might say,“If God’s going to do whatever He wants, why pray?” Because God has instructed us to “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and promises great blessings when we do. And even if only a few will be saved, don’t you want your loved ones to be among the few? Remember, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Prayer among evangelical Christians is always in danger of degenerating into a glorified gold rush. Almost every book on prayer deals with the “get” element mainly. How to get things we want from God occupies most of the space. Now, we gladly admit that we may ask for and receive specific gifts and benefits in answer to prayer, but we must never forget that the highest kind of prayer is never the making of requests. Prayer at its holiest moment is the entering into God to a place of such blessed union as makes miracles seem tame and remarkable answers to prayer appear something very far short of wonderful by comparison.

Holy men of soberer and quieter times than ours knew well the power of silence. David said, “I was dumb with silence. I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing the fire burned; then spoke I with my tongue.” There is a tip here for God’s modern prophets. The heart seldom gets hot while the mouth is open. A closed mouth before God and silent heart are indispensable for the reception of certain kinds of truth. No man is qualified to speak who has not first listened. The Set of the Sail, pp. 14-15

“Lord, teach me to close my mouth. I love to preach; You’ve given me opportunities to teach; I’m called on to dispense advice and counsel. But the sitting in silence before You, with my mouth closed–I don’t do nearly enough of that. Amen.”

What To Do If Your Family Rejects Jesus

"If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11

As Christians, we want our family members to know God’s forgiveness and love. We especially want them to go to Heaven. Sometimes, our family members reject Jesus. They might even mock or insult you for following Jesus if you live in a place with very few Christians. When your family rejects Jesus, what do you do?

Present Your Needs to God
Think of your earthly father. Would you describe him as kind or mean? Comforting or completely absent? Whatever your experience was with your earthly father, understand that our Heavenly Father is much different. God is always present, and he is far greater, kinder, and generous than any father on earth. Because God loves us, He wants us to present our needs to Him. If your family rejects Jesus, pray to God about it.

Use Your Secret Weapon - Prayer
We know we should pray to God for our family members who reject Jesus, but how? The Apostle Paul wrote, “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for ALL people” (1 Timothy 2:1). Pray for all of your family members. Even the ones you don’t know yet! 1 Thessalonians 5:17 even says to “Pray without ceasing.” We should never stop praying for our family members that reject Jesus.

Remember, Jesus “came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). Pray confidently! The entire reason Jesus came to earth was to save us. That includes me, you and your entire family! Be persistent in your prayers. Even if the situation hasn’t changed yet, keep praying. And always remember to continue “Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:20).

Trust in God’s Will When we pray, we are not only asking for things, but aligning our own will with God’s. That’s why one of the first phrases of the Lord’s Prayer is, “Your will be done.” Our Heavenly Father knows what to give and when to give it. Our part is to persistently ask for the salvation of our loved ones, and to patiently wait and seek His will.

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:10

 It is always with the heart that man believes – and with the mouth that confession is “made unto salvation.” When you believe something with your heart and confess it with your mouth, then it becomes real to you.

Faith’s confessions create realities! For example, Hebrews 9:12 says, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Jesus will never have to do that again; He has already done it once, and for all time. And Romans 10:10 tells us how we obtain the reality of that salvation: By believing with the heart – the inner man – and confessing with the mouth.

As you read some of the “in Christ,” “in Him,” and “in whom” scriptures, it may not seem like you really have what these scriptures say you have. But if you will begin to confess (because you do believe God’s Word in your heart), “This is mine. This is who I am. This is what I have,” then it will become real to you. It is already real in the spirit realm. But you want it to become real in this physical realm where you are living. Confession: With my heart I believe God’s Word; and with my mouth I make confession of its promises and provisions. My faith confessions create the reality of those promises and provisions in my life. I am who God says I am – now! I have what God says I have – now!

You're relieved

The Lord Jesus Christ can relieve you from the burden of guilt you are bearing. Here’s how:

1. Open your heart to Him

In order to be relieved of your load of guilt, you must first acknowledge your need for a savior, acknowledge your sins, and then receive Jesus Christ. Only He can do this “impossible” task of guilt-removal. He does it thoroughly, completely, and entirely.Consider Hebrews 10:17: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And Romans 8:1, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

2. Live by His Holy Spirit dwelling within you

When you acknowledge your sins and receive the forgiveness of Jesus Christ, wholeness and restoration happen on the spot. Immediately. Without fail. The load of your guilt dissolves, and His Holy Spirit is deposited in you to guide you.Consider John 14:16-17: “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. … He lives with you and will be in you.” And Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

3. Know the Word of God

You know you are forgiven and liberated from guilt, but to experience freedom daily you must know God’s Word, the Bible. Read it. Study it. Underline it. Memorize it. Become an expert in the New Testament. This keeps you steeped in God’s truth and protects your mind from attack.Consider Matthew 4:4: “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”  And Ephesians 6:17: “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Should You Feel Different After Accepting Christ?

Scripture: “He has identified us as his own by placing the Holy spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.” 2 Corinthians1:22

When you accept Jesus, should you FEEL different? Some people have a big, emotional event while others might grow in faith gradually. Emotions can be misleading, so let’s see what the Bible says happens after you accept Jesus.

God Promises Us Eternal Life“So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie...” Hebrews 6:18

God’s promise is that whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life and is a child of God. (John 3:16, John 1:12) God doesn’t lie, so we can trust his promises. Have you made the decision to accept Jesus as your Savior? If you have, then God has sent His Holy Spirit to live in you. This is based on God’s promise, not the way you feel after you accept Christ.

The Holy Spirit Guarantees We Belong to ChristJesus promised he would send you an “Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth...and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17) But what does the Holy Spirit mean to you? The Holy Spirit is your guarantee, or seal, that your hope in Jesus is secure. The Bible says, “When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance...” (Ephesians 1:13-14) When you place your faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of you. It’s the Holy Spirit that guarantees you belong to God, not a feeling!

God Makes Us NewAfter you accept Christ, you may not feel different, but the Bible says God makes us a brand new person! “...anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Then, the Holy Spirit helps you understand God’s word and gives you power to live more like Jesus. If you have accepted Christ, let God do His work in you! “I am confident that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Philippians 1:6)

It's by grace

I had a lovely chat with my mentor . She's one of the people responsible for my spiritual growth in life and she helps me in my walk with Jesus. I thought sharing this portion won't be a bad idea.

There's something so important I want you to understand. You are saved by your faith in Jesus. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast." Imagine a life raft coming to save you from drowning in the ocean; you have to reach out and grab it-and hold on.

That's what you did when you put your trust in Jesus as your Savior and the Son of God. You said, "Jesus, I need saving, and I believe You are the only One who can do it." And that is what Jesus did when He died on the cross; He swam across the ocean of your sin to rescue you forever. Now the end destination is heaven with Jesus when you die. But your eternal life starts the moment you put your faith in Jesus. The Bible promises, "I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may KNOW you have eternal life". How to Be Confident You're Going to Heaven

Scripture: “This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God - who does not lie - promised them before the world began.” Titus 1:2

If you die today, how confident are you that you will go to heaven?” Someone asked me that question many years ago and my response was 90%. I thought I was being humble and realistic. After all, no one is perfect! But I was a “good” person and went to church regularly. However, I did not realize that I had just denied Jesus and made my salvation based on my own good works.

Remember that Salvation is a Gift
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Last week, we explained how you become a Christian by belief in Jesus Christ. He died once, for all people and all sin - past, present, and future. If you are not sure if you are a Christian, please read last week’s post.

Galatians 3:3 says, “After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?” If we are saved by faith and not by obeying the law, can we lose our salvation by sinning? Absolutely not!

Understand that God’s Promise Can’t Be Broken
You became a child of God based on your faith in God’s promise in John 1:12. This has nothing to do with you and your ability to keep the Ten Commandments. This is a promise from God. And God does not lie!

“So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the veil into God’s holy inner sanctuary.” (Hebrews 6:18-19).

Remember that NOTHING Can Separate You From Your Salvation
Your salvation is held secure by God’s power and promise. It has nothing to do with your ability to be perfect. “I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow…” (Romans 8:38-39). And Jesus also confirmed this when he said, “I give them eternal life and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of my hand…” (John 10:28)

Now, when someone asks me how confident I am that I will go to heaven when I die, I answer 100%! I hope you can too!

Jesus, the pilot

How many times have you flown in a plane believing that the pilot has it all in control? Well, often we do. On board, strap up ready to fly to any destination believing that the trained pilot has no mean intentions, and are capable of flying safe. There are various news about aircraft missing such as the Malaysian airline Boeing 777 aircraft carrying 239 persons which disappeared; a situation that has stunned aviation experts and indeed everyone and also a Mozambican pilot deliberately ditched a plane, apparently on a suicide mission, killing all on board.  

I wonder if we can believe and trust pilots who themselves are flesh and blood prone to errors and given to human idiosyncrasies and flaws, and in extreme and scary circumstances, nursing malicious and mischievous agendas to end it all, why then do we fight to believe and from time to time query the unblemished, perfect, and genuinely sincere pilot of our souls, Jesus whose only plan for us is to give us an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11.

There is a hymn titled 'What a friend we have in Jesus', it is so powerful that each time I come across it I just have it in me that I have a friend who is my Lord and my Saviour.

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Sre we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Just a little talk with Jesus to be our pilot is all we need in life to succeed,  to land safely at that promised land that He has promised us. Acts 3:19, John 3:7.

How to Have a Relationship with God

Scripture: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9  

GOD LOVES YOU!  
He wants to have a relationship with you. He wants you to be with him for all eternity! Many people claim to be Christians because their parents were, or their country has a “Christian heritage”. Does going to church or giving to the poor make you a Christian? No, Christianity is a personal relationship with God, not a culture or a list of rules. So, how can we have a relationship with God?  

Remove the Barrier of Sin  
“For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23.  
Sin is rebellion against God. I think all of us would agree; we are not perfect. Sin separates us from God because God is Holy (perfect). We cannot bridge this huge gap between us, because we can never be good enough to reach God’s perfect standard. It would be like swimming across the ocean. It is hopeless by human effort. That’s why we need Jesus to remove the barrier of sin and bridge the gap between us and God.  

Accept Jesus Christ  
I have Good News! God sent his Son Jesus to live a perfect, sinless life and die in our place.  
“For the payment for sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23.   Jesus has already paid the penalty for your sin and offers a full pardon (forgiveness). This is a gift, not something you have to earn by being good. Like any gift, it is free; all you have to do is accept it and make it your own.

Become a Child of God
“Yet to ALL who did receive him, to those who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
Have you accepted God’s forgiveness offered to you through Jesus’ death on the cross? If yes, then according to scripture you are a child of God. You are a Christian because of your belief. Welcome to the family!

Walking in Love

While reading Kenneth Hagin’s book on ‘love, the way to victory’, I recommend this book for all. I decided that I have to publish this particular portion.

When Faith Won't Work If you're not walking in love, your faith won't work. It's that simple. If your faith is failing you, you need to check up on yourself in your love walk.

GALATIANS 5:6    . . . faith. . . worketh by love.

I once knew a particular person, who thought everyone was wrong but him. This man criticized any person you would mention. And then he had the audacity to say, "Well, I tried that faith business, and it won't work."

No, his faith wouldn't work because he didn't walk in love. And not only was he not walking in love, but then he insulted God and insulted the Bible by saying, "Faith doesn't work." Well, if faith doesn't work, then Jesus lied in Mark 11:24 when he said, " . . . What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." But, of course, Jesus didn't lie about it.

If there's any failure, it's not on God's part or on Jesus' part. God never fails. And His Word never fails either! So we might just as well admit that if there's any failure, it has to be on our part. What we need to do is check-up and find out where we missed it and get ourselves back in line with the Word.  

If what you are about to say or do would work ill to the other person, then don't do it or say it because you wouldn’t be walking in love. Every step out of love is sin. But walking in love is fulfilling the Law.
